Tulliallan Bowling Club

All About Tulliallan Bowling Club

Tulliallan Bowling Club is a relatively small, friendly Club situated in the village of Kincardine-on-Forth at the western end of the "Kingdom of Fife", Scotland about 11 miles from Dunfermline.
The Club is a lawn green bowling club with a mixed membership (male & female ) of approximately 100 playing members and 25 social members.
The primary aim of the Club is to promote the game of outdoor lawn bowls for men and women of all ages.
During the playing season, which runs from April to October, the Club organises predominantly gents friendly matches but the fixture list also contains mixed friendly matches.
As well as organised team matches the Club also run "Fun Days" for the members when Dress Codes are forgotten just about and anything goes.
The Club is affiliated to The Scottish Bowling Association and The Clackmannan & Kinross Bowling Asscociation, affectionately known as "The Wee County" and the members take part in the Gent's and Ladies National and County Competitions.
Internal competitions are run throughout the season in singles, pairs, triples and rinks and the winners earn the right to represent the Club in the following seasons National and County Competitions.
The Club also take part in team competitions both at County and National level. The big County Team Competition is the Balfour Trophy which is hotly contested by all the 17 Clubs in the County.
Social evenings are held throughout the year and are extremely popular with members and visitors, who are made to feel very welcome.
During the winter members take part in the indoor bowling at the local Alloa Leisure Bowl.
The Club also participate in the Bowling Club Pool League during the winter break.
Club members manage, operate and maintain the Club almost entirely with voluntary labour. The green has been tended, for the last 25 years, by a part-time greenkeeper, who is also a member of the Club.
The playing surface of our green is highly regarded in the district and we receive compliments from visitors from far and wide
Our green has recently been selected as one of the County greens to hold Hamilton Trophy matches, a competition competed by all the County Districts in Scotland.
